About

The young soprano Michelle Nora Lind gained her first experience performing a solo role as Belinda in Dido & Aeneas. Since then, she has performed Susanna in The marriage of Figaro at the Funen Opera, and the Nightingale in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges. Her latest performances are the Vixen in The Cunning Little Vixen and the cheerful Inger in Agnete & Havmanden. In the spring 2015 she sang in the new Andy Pape-opera Andre Bygninger, which won the Danish Reumert Award. She has performed the role as Serpina in Pergolesi's La serva padrona at the Funen Opera.

In the Danish churches she has sung Gabriel in Haydn's The Creation as well as the soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem. Earlier she has performed solo in concerts in both Bremer Cathedral, Schleswiger Cathedral in Germany.

Michelle completed her Master degree in Classical Music/Performance in June 2015 under professor Helene Gjerris at the Danish National Academy of Music in Odense. Earlier she has studied with Professor Julie Kaufmann at Universität der Künste in Berlin. She now studies with the Danish star soprano Henriette Bonde-Hansen.

Michelle is an inquisitive performer who loves exploring the soprano repertoire. Her passion is the combination of music and theatre, which is one of the reasons that opera is very close to her heart. When she performs at a classical concert, she draws on her experience from the theatrical stage. Michelle is also showing an increasing interest in contemporary music.

Michelle was involved in music long before she knew that it would one day become her chosen career. She grew up in Langå, Eastern Jutland, and her family's obvious enjoyment of singing opened her eyes to the power of music. There was an old piano in the family home and she would often play it – either on her own, absorbed in the music, or in good company, playing duets. She was very attracted to singing, and was accepted into the National Youth Choir of the Danish Church when she was 13 years old. This gave her the opportunity to develop her singing with other young performers, and she soon moved on to Classical Music at the MGK (a conservatory preparatory school) and then to the Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, from where she graduated in 2015.
